**The most important metric is `Amount in USD`, the size of each funding deal.** It is the only measure in this dataset, and every question about ticket size, round benchmarks or funding momentum depends on it. It is stored as text with Indian digit grouping (for example `3,90,00,00,000`), so I converted it to a number before ranking. **Highest records** (results above, steps 8–9): - **Rapido Bike Taxi**, Series B, Bengaluru, 27/08/2019: **$3.9 billion**. This looks like a data-entry error, because it is far above every other Series B-type deal and about 1.5× the next largest deal. I would verify it before relying on it. - **Flipkart**, Private Equity, Bangalore, 11/08/2017: **$2.5 billion**. - **Flipkart** (21/03/2017) and **Paytm** (18/05/2017), both Private Equity, Bangalore: **$1.4 billion each**. - **Paytm**, Funding Round, Noida, 25/11/2019: $1.0 billion. - The rest of the top 10 run down to Udaan's Series D at $585 million (02/10/2019). The top of the list is mostly late-stage private equity into large e-commerce and fintech companies, concentrated in Bangalore. One caveat: an unsorted top-N can show Drums Food (21/07/2016) first. Its amount is missing, not large. Missing amounts sort to the top in descending order, so I excluded them from the real ranking. **Lowest records** (results above, steps 8–9): - The smallest reported deal is **$16,000**. Five Seed Funding deals share it, all on 19/01/2015: Hostel Dunia, Play your sport, Yo Grad, CBS and Enabli. - The next smallest are **$16,600** deals on 02/02/2015 (Dealwithus, Leaf, Faaya, CleverSharks, InstaBounce). Their round type is stored as `Seed\nFunding`, which is a separate formatting variant of "Seed Funding". **Takeaways** - Deal sizes span about five orders of magnitude, from roughly $16 thousand to $3.9 billion, so averages will be dominated by a few giant deals. Medians or per-round-type views are safer for benchmarking. - Some rows have no amount at all, such as Drums Food, so counts and totals should account for them. - The smallest deals are all early seed rounds from early 2015, and several have no city or vertical recorded. - The same round types appear under different spellings (`Seed Funding` and `Seed\nFunding`), which would need cleaning before grouping by round.
