Edit
**The most surprising finding is that the same companies show wildly different funding amounts from one month to the next, and the April amounts are almost always the biggest.** The dataset looks like a list of distinct monthly rounds, but the repeats suggest it isn't one.
- **Pine Labs** appears in four months with $20M (Jan), $150M (Feb), $50M (Mar) and $1.2B (Apr). The April figure is 60 times the January one.
- **The April figure is larger than the earlier one for every repeated company that has two comparable amounts.**
- Xpressbees: $300M (Feb) → $577.6M (Apr).
- Licious: $150M (Mar) → $488.7M (Apr).
- Chargebee: $250M (Feb) → $468.2M (Apr).
- DealShare: $45M (Feb) → $624.8M (Apr), about 14 times larger.
- Classplus: $70M (Mar) → $129.5M (Apr).
- Mamaearth: $52M (Jan) → $110.8M (Apr).
- **The stage often stays the same across those rows**, for example Series F for Xpressbees and Series D for Classplus. This suggests they are the same round re-reported or revised, not new rounds.
- **Some April amounts are malformed.** Values like `$624.800,000`, `$468.200,000` and `$110.800,000` use a period as the thousands separator, and Livspace's `$431.6` has no magnitude at all. Securden appears twice in April with `$11.700,000` and `$11,700,000`, which is one record in two formats. These strings can't be summed as written.
- **Swiggy** shows $700M in January and "Undisclosed" in April.
The amount column holds 35 "Undisclosed" values and 25 blanks, which is a large share of the 446 rows. The May sheet is also mostly empty: 19 of its 42 rows have no company name, and only one of them has an amount or stage (`6400000`, `$Series A`).
**Implication:** summing Amount across the five monthly sheets would double-count companies and mix formats. A "total funding" figure would be unreliable, and the April total would be inflated. The same-stage pattern is my reading of the evidence, not something the data confirms. These are the 14 repeated companies in the output above, not a full audit of the 446 rows.
