Edit
**The most surprising finding is that the "one row per funding round" tables don't behave like round-level data.** The same companies reappear month after month with amounts that don't reconcile, and the April figures are especially odd. **1. Repeat companies, with April amounts far above earlier months.** Across the five monthly tables, 13 named companies appear more than once (14 groups, including one blank-name group). Pine Labs appears in four months (Jan–Apr). The query that lists each company's appearances shows: | Company | Earlier amount | April amount | |---|---|---| | Pine Labs | $20M (Jan), $150M (Feb), $50M (Mar) | $1.2B | | DealShare | $45M (Feb) | $624.8M | | Licious | $150M (Mar) | $488.7M | | Xpressbees | $300M (Feb) | $577.6M | | Chargebee | $250M (Feb) | $468.2M | | Mamaearth | $52M (Jan) | $110.8M | | Classplus | $70M (Mar) | $129.5M | The April number is usually much larger than the earlier one, and often the stage barely changes (DealShare is "Series E" in both months, Xpressbees "Series F" in both). Pine Labs' $1.2B in April carries a stage of "undisclosed". A genuine new round every month at these sizes is implausible. I did not test why, but it looks like the April file records cumulative or re-reported totals rather than new rounds. That is a hypothesis. The data doesn't confirm it. **2. The Amount column is dirty text, and April has mixed number formats.** - Some April values use a decimal point where a comma belongs, such as `$468.200,000`, `$624.800,000` and `$129.500,000`. Livspace's April value is `$431.6`, with no magnitude at all. - Securden appears twice in April with the same amount written two ways (`$11.700,000` and `$11,700,000`). NowPurchase appears twice in January with an identical $2.4M Seed row. - In the Amount distribution, "Undisclosed" (35 rows) and blank (25 rows) together outnumber any real dollar figure. The most common actual amount is $1,000,000 (20 rows). **3. The May table is mostly empty.** Of its 42 rows, 19 have a blank company name and only one carries any data (`6400000`, with stage `$Series A`). The amount and stage look shifted across columns. **Implication:** any sum or ranking of "total funding" by month or company would be badly inflated or distorted unless you first de-duplicate, parse the amounts, and decide how to treat the April re-reports. Treat the headline amounts as unreliable until that is done.
